The Knights of Columbus offers special benefits of membership. Among these are unique programs that exist exclusively for K of C families faced with needs that often fall outside traditional insurance plans.  Term Plans – Policy ends at end of specified term: renewable or convertible.
 Permanent Plans – Policy lasts as long as you live, premium stays the same.
 Retirement Plans - IRA’s, ROTH IRA’s, 401(k) Rollovers.
 Annuities – Provides an income that is guaranteed for life.
 Long Term Care – Provides funds for long-term, out-of-hospital care.
• Disability Insurance – The leading cause of disability is our health, and there is a 1 out of 3 chance of needing a disability income at some point during your working career. 

Guaranteed Life Insurance Benefits for Uninsurable Children: Offers guaranteed-issue insurance up to $5,000 for any otherwise uninsurable child under age 18.

Death Benefits Available for Stillborn/Miscarried Children: The Family Fraternal Benefit pays — for eligible families — $1,500 for the child who dies before the age of 61 days; pays $750 for the child who is stillborn at least 20 weeks after conception. The Orphan Fraternal Benefit: Endows an $80 monthly allotment for orphans of eligible families, and up to $7,000 in college scholarships.

Member/Spouse Accidental Death Benefits: The Order’s Member/Spouse Fraternal Benefit provide free accidental death coverage for all members in good standing(who belong to a council in good standing) and their spouses, regardless of whether they participate in the Order’s insurance program. The Member/Spouse Benefit brochure provides a complete explanation of this program. Here are some additional benefits available to Knights of Columbus members.

Guaranteed Issue Whole Life Insurance: ($7,500 AGE 18-54; $5,000 AGE 55-65)

• Every Knight has the opportunity to join the Fourth Degree, the Order’s patriotic arm. 

• Each new or readmitted member receives a K of C rosary blessed by the supreme chaplain. 

• Each Knight receives a free subscription to Columbia magazine. 

• A daily Mass is said at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Conn., for deceased members, their spouses and the Columbian Squires.

New members are the life-blood of the order, without recruitment and retention our order would not be the strong pillar that it is today. In 1882, Father Michael J. McGivney saw firsthand the devastation on a family caused by the death of the breadwinner. From his vision, the Knights of Columbus insurance program was created to provide financial security for its members and their families. Today, we have more than $80 billion of insurance in force (April 2011), and 1,400 full-time brother agents dedicated to carrying out his vision.
